I managed to fit a shoot in for Maiko Watson w/ Moses Mayes at The Pyramid amidst a busy schedule, and am I ever glad I did. This was the first time she had popped up on my radar and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Let me say this: being at one of Maiko’s shows is like taking a trip in time back to the golden age of funk and soul music. She is a modern day Aretha Franklin! If you do happen to be in the right place at the right time and get the opportunity to see her perform, don’t hesitate and treat yourself to a night out with her bringing the entertainment.
