Delhi 2 Dublin

Delhi 2 Dublin at the West End Cultural Center, Winnipeg MB.  The band brought a great energy to the stage that was infectious, this show was fun.  When the crowd started demanding an encore by stomping on the floor, I honestly wondered if the floor was going to give.

This was also my first shoot with my new camera body, the Nikon D7000.  My first impression would be that I am impressed, especially with the low light capturing capability.  It is a step down in body quality…

Moses Mayes

Local legends Moses Mayes at The Pyramid.  Twelve years of performing together sure is evident in how naturally they play together.  This was a show for  Winnipeg’s “winter survival” series of shows.  That’s right, we keep each other warm in my hometown by dancing the night away.

This was one of the last shows they played before a few key members moved away, but I’m willing to bet there will be a few reunion shows yet.

Maiko Watson w/ Moses Mayes

I managed to fit a shoot in for Maiko Watson w/ Moses Mayes at The Pyramid amidst a busy schedule, and am I ever glad I did.  This was the first time she had popped up on my radar and I wasn’t sure what to expect.  Let me say this: being at one of Maiko’s shows is like taking a trip in time back to the golden age of funk and soul music.  She is a modern day Aretha Franklin!  If you do happen to be in the right place at the right time and get the opportunity to see her perform, don’t hesitate…
