Reaching for the night sky.

Some of you might not know this about me, but back in the day I studied astronomy at the University of Manitoba.  There was of course the necessary prerequisite knowledge that we studied in the lecture hall, but as we got further into the program we were able to literally take our studies to the stars.

Here we go again! National Geographic Photo Contest: Take 2

I have a photo entered in the National Geographic Photo Contest this year. It is titled, “Camping under a midnight prairie sky” and is from camping days of the summer past.  This was on a trip to a little creek wilderness on Karen‘s family farm, not too far from home.  For camping, an exotic locale really isn’t needed.  A dark sky and good company will suffice pretty much anywhere.
