Ah, the Winnipeg Folk Festival: a gathering around music, art, and community that pops up in a prairie field for five days every year. Exactly two weeks from today the 2016 festival begins with the Crooked Brothers kicking things off on the main stage. I have a photo entered in the National Geographic Photo Contest this year. It is titled, “Camping under a midnight prairie sky” and is from camping days of the summer past. This was on a trip to a little creek wilderness on Karen‘s family farm, not too far from home. For camping, an exotic locale really isn’t needed. A dark sky and good company will suffice pretty much anywhere.
