Winnipeg, the starting point for this whole journey, is located at almost the exact center of North America – pretty much as far from any ocean as you can get.  At this point in the trip, to roll over yet another hill and see the endless blue horizon stretch out across the sky was quite the milestone.  Crossing California’s dry interior, we reached the refreshing sea air just a bit north of Los Angeles.  …

Vancouver 2012

For the second spring in a row, I found myself in Vancouver this year.  Last year it was a week long layover on my way to Bangkok; this year it was for a bit of yogic study: I did a Yin yoga teacher training with Paul and Suzee Grilley (at Semperviva on Granville Island – tucked away on the pier by the house boats).  It was an intensive time of study but downtime was spent wandering the city with old friends, new friends, or just by myself.  Most of the time, I could be found…
